⟶Liechtenstein has been in existence for over 300 years and has 11 villages. The highest mountain peak is 2599 m.a.s.l. M. (Grauspitz). The largest extension is 24.6 km in length and 12.4 km in width.

⟶The constitution describes the form of government as a constitutional hereditary monarchy on a democratic and parliamentary basis. State power is therefore anchored both in the Prince and in the people. Liechtenstein brings two opposing principles, the monarchical and the democratic, to a common denominator.

History
⟶The Liechtenstein territory has been inhabited since the 5th millennium BC. However, it was only in 1719 - after Prince Johann Adam acquired the Lordship of Schellenberg and the County of Vaduz - that the territory was elevated to an imperial principality with the name Liechtenstein. The country received its sovereignty in 1806.
